Whoop – Dee – Doo!!

Posted in General on May 21st, 2007

Whatever did I do with my Whoop-Dee!?  Okay, enough silliness (hah!  never enough silliness!).  I’m just feeling a bit elated to have my Bernina Fashion Show ensemble finished, photographed, paperworked to death, and packed in a box to ship!  Whoever thought it was a good idea to work with that much white taffeta is fired!  But I am pleased with how it looks, and just hope it looks good on the runway.  Sorry, no pictures.  We were asked to keep things under wraps until after the premier in Houston this fall.  Besides, I am still not able to import my pictures.  Van is working on a new computer for me, so hopefully that will solve the memory issues.

To give myself a chance to decompress after the rush to the deadline, I am taking myself down to the Oregon coast for a few days.  I have one tiny little errand to run while I’m there, but the rest of the time will be spent browsing the galleries, walking the beach, taking naps, reading, and a little beadwork while listening to movies on my laptop.  Van will be happy to have his favorite nutcase out of the house for a few days so he can get back to work instead of doing my photography and finding shipping boxes, etc.  I bought him a steak to celebrate my departure!    I’ll come home on Sunday (his birthday) and we will go out to dinner someplace fun.

Meanwhile, it is time to spruce up my summer wardrobe.  The basic T-tops and slacks that I made a couple years ago are starting to look a little ratty, so I’ve been cutting and stacking, ready to sew up a storm before summer gets here.  But for now, I’d better get after the laundry and packing list.

I’ve Been Tagged

Posted in General on May 17th, 2007

Being fairly new to this world of blogging, I’ve heard about this “tagging” business, but have thus far escaped untagged. That is, until now. Linda Minton tagged me to post seven random facts about myself and then tag seven other people. This sounds suspiciously like a chain letter to me (see fact number one), but I like Linda, so I’ll play along. And may the folks I tag forgive me.
1. I don’t DO chain letters.

2. I don’t have pets, but have a huge variety of birds, bunnies, deer, raccoons, etc in the yard to provide entertainment.

3. I am a movie-holic, and listen to movies while I bead.

4. My blood pressure drops when I get near the ocean.

5. I go through fits of tidiness, but am generally a messy sort of person.

6. I love to travel, and I love to be alone in my studio – a contradiction if ever I heard one.

7. I like clothing, and have the bursting closet to prove it!

Now, as I understand it, I’m supposed to list the folks that I intend to tag, then go to their blogs and let them know that they are “It”. So, here they are:

Kathy Lichtendahl

Pam RuBert

Jamie Fingal
Rayna Gilman

Peg Keeney

Laura Cater-Woods
Sarah-Ann Smith

Don’t throw rocks – it’s all Linda’s fault!
